Banking

Wolfgang worked for NM Rothschild & Sons Ltd in London, England for 10 years. In his position as Systems Assurance Manager he established an all-encompassing method of ensuring success in IT projects from inception to completion. Under his guidance the number of projects started and completed and still used in production 1 year after completion increased to over 90%.
He also performed an IT security review, developed their IT security policy, established an IT Security Committee and became their first IT Security Officer. In his last 2 years he became the implementation and support manager for a large-scale replacement of all major in-house developed systems by packaged solutions, a project that he successfully completed prior to leaving for the USA.

Lottery System

Wolfgang managed the inception phase for a new overseas lottery system with web, wap and ivr features. The RUP process was utilized, but not pursued for the remainder of the project.

E-commerce Ticketing

Wolfgang was the project manager for the development of an e-commerce interface for an e-commerce ticketing company while working for Dataskill, Inc. in San Diego. The interface, developed in Java, running on Tomcat, interfaces between a website and several major league baseball clubs (MLBs) back-office ticketing systems. This resulted in a unified interface for all MLBs with outstanding handling of performance at peak periods. The same system was ultimately extended to handle the ticket purchasing for the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City (2002).

Insurance Brokers

Wolfgang developed a claims settlement program for a medium-sized insurance broker in London, England. Development was in DEC Basic-Plus 2. He was also responsible for implementing the complete system and training the client in system administration. For this purpase he designed a menu system of administration tasks which the client took over completely in 3 days.

Commodity Brokers

Wolfgang developed a combined settlement/statement program for Rolfe & Nolan, a worldwide system house based in London, England. Development was in DEC Basic. He was also responsible for design, development, testing and implementation.

Fraud Prevention

Wolfgang analyzed the requirements, designed the system and led the development of a fraud prevention system for use by casinos. The web-based system takes note of all check transactions and is able to exchange information about bounced checks to other participating casinos. This was a Java/DB2 with Apache and Tomcat development.

Healthcare

Wolfgang was called in to help a national healthcare company, based in San Diego, to remediate their most crucial system for Y2K, which was well behind schedule.

In establishing a close cooperation with a consulting firm and outsourcing a lot of the remediation effort to Thailand, the system was ready and tested on December 12, 1999. It worked well into 2000 without any major problems.

Foreign Exchange Brokers

Wolfgang managed a project team of 4 to implement legislative reporting features for Drexel Burnham Lambert in London, England. The project team did not think they could do the work on time. Wolfgang estimated and planned out the work with frequent milestones and the project completed 1 day before the legal deadline.

E-Marketplace

Wolfgang is the project manager, chief designer and database designer on a large system that will bring together buyers, sellers and shipping partners of medium sized commercial companies. The system is being developed in Java/DB2 and Websphere on IBM/AIX systems.
